Mock Sloppy Joes Recipe

I ran out of the usual sauce for Sloppy Joe’s so I thought to use the gravy. It was something different and the kids enjoyed it too.

Ingredients

2 lb. lean ground beef (or turkey or ground chicken breast)
1 1/2 jars or cans beef gravy, divided
1 sm. onion, sliced
1/2 C. baby carrots, blanched or microwaved 4 minutes with water, drained
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. dried parsley
4 grinds black pepper
2 Tbs. grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

This entire recipe can be made in the slow cooker; however, if you have meat that isn’t too lean, I would suggest cooking on the stove top.

Shredded Turkey Breast Recipe

My family loves turkey and I wanted something easy. We serve it as a meal and then shred what is left and make sandwiches with it. It is very moist and tender.

1 turkey breast
1 pkg. onion soup mix
2 stalks celery, chopped fine
1 stick butter or margarine
1 C. water
