Garlicky Barbecue Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken pieces
1 C. packed light brown sugar
2/3 C. vinegar
1/4 C. lemon/lime soda
2-3 Tbs. minced garlic
2 Tbs. soy sauce
1 tsp. ground black pepper
